An Emerging Franciscan Community for Mature Women in the Beguine Tradition
Our Life in Rural Maine
We recite the Divine Office in common.
We attend Daily Mass.
We respect and practice silence, stillness and mindfulness.
We have spiritual enrichment courses via CD and DVD. We have an extensive library.
We enjoy simple meals. We hold all in common.
We follow the Beatitudes as our guide for daily living.
We use the spirit of St. Clare and her way of life as a path.
We hold sacred the virtues of charity, humility and community life in the Beguine tradition.
Clare:
Follower of St. Francis
First woman to write a rule for women.
We, her companions, live in poverty of spirit and material goods, focus on prayer and simplicity of living, while holding sacred the virtues of charity, humility and community.
We live in a peaceful environment.
If you’re interested, we can schedule a “Come and See”. For information, details and timing, please contact us.
